Erm it depends if you want a dedicated macro lens they can be pretty expensive, or extension tubes are a more cost efficient method. There is a third option if you also need a telephoto lens some have the ability to focus through the whole range from 1m away its not a perfect Macro lens but it could double up as macro lens.

Each has their benefits it depends which suits you best.

For now I am using extension tubes on a Sony A200 with a 50mm lens. I also have a bellows I bought used, which is more flexible. Both are manual, no autofocus and the camera has to be in manual mode so there is no 'lens check'

Bellows can be on the expensive side, but extension tube from Hong Kong are pretty cheap. Check this link on Ebay: eBay Seller: jiakgong: nikon, Cameras Photo items on eBay.com

Another method is to use an adapter to reverse a lens on you camera, or onto another lens. The adapters are not expensive, but ordering from the Orient takes a while. I have ordered a reversal adapter from the above link.

You might want to take a look at this: Extension Tubes - Full Disclosure - Photography & Digital Camera Forums

There is lots of information on the internet, have fun
