Default Camera Won't Take The Shot?

This could be a completely newb question but it is one none-the-less. I have noticed an issue when shooting close up to my subject... I depress the button to shoot and it won't take the shot. I even try putting it in different modes other than Manual (Auto, Macro, AP) but still it won't take the shot. I look at my screen info and it's not signaling to me that anything is wrong... This only happens when shooting very close up.

Any thoughts?

Most likely it is closer than the minimum focusing distance (MFD) of your lens.

Yup that would be my guess also. Try putting the switch in manual mode for focusing...
