Default Some help with this photo

Hi all,

Has anyone had this problem when photographing Christmas lights? I've had it happen on one other occasion where there are little dotted light spots (there are about 4 red ones in this photo). I am guessing the Christmas lights are reflecting off of the camera lens? Any suggestions on how to avoid this? I don't understand why it's doing this. Thanks!

Julie

Welcome to DPS....this is a great community of people, you will learn loads.
I am not an expert, but I do love this photo. Sorry, I don't know how to fix the problem
you are having. In truth, what I would do is clone the red dots out and make a christmas card out of this. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

I have the PSPX2 photo editing program. There is a function scratch remover. One can use that function to remove the small red dots.Welcome at DPS with a wonderful capture.

Welcome to the community Mind Creations,

Since I don't see Blue dots being reflected I think it's artifacts on your camera's sensor, I would be like to know what kinda camera you use and what the EXIF info was.. As mentioned a simple editing program can get rid of them pretyy easy.

You focused well on the Dog and it's a really cute photo.. wish I could be more helpful, but I would just edit them if it was me, the beauty of digital

hi everyone! thank you for the comments

The camera I am using is brand new and it's the Canon Rebel XSi. I am pretty sure it's not sensor related as any other photo I take is just fine and has no artifacts that I can see. It's just light related so far hopefully I won't run into too many problems with this. I did have a UV filter on my lens that is brand new but maybe there is some dust on the inside of the lens. I will double check and do some more experimenting with my Christmas tree lights I know how to clone out those dots but it's just a strange thing to have happen!

Glad you all like the photo too! Roxy was being cooperative for me and didn't mind the Christmas lights too much, haha!
