Can someone point me to the thread that gave detailed instructions on how to build a light box for macro photography?

You're welcome. I built one using those instructions and it worked well. The problem eventually became that it was tedious to set up and breakdown in my very small apartment.

I eventually bought one like this to save the time. http://www.ezcube.com/
It was about $39 USD at a local photo shop.

There are a whole lot of ways to accomplish this: cardboard boxes and paper, PVC pipe and cloth, foam board are a few. Here's a good list to start with.

Good luck.
