Mike_W, Welcome

Photo's a little unfocused, good color, composition could be less tight and less centered. Good first post.

Have you put your DIY ringlight idea in the Equipment thread:

Nice shot! I too would like to see your "How-To", I'm always trying different ways to light my images. How did you get the light color in the natural spectrum? All of the LED lights I've seen, seem to lean more toward the blue hues. (Not the red or green ones, but definitely the white LEDs) I look forward to seeing more of your work.

It looks quite better than when using flash. Can you upload a picture of that LED ring?

Thanks for your interest. I have uploaded 3 pics. Front, rear, and of the threaded boss, 67 mm, that screws onto my lens. You are right it does give an unusal light, very blue. I set my white balance bracketing at the amber end The photo was taken on a very still night, F22 at about 4 seconds. If you want any more info let me know.

Thanks for your interest. Sorry for the late response but it is our summer holidays in Australia and I have been away. You are correct the Bright White LEDs have a very strong blue cast. I overcome this by adjusting my WB bracketing to the amber bias. The color of the flower is very close to that shot in sunlight. I have just responded to "josealb" showing some pics of the ringlight.
