First macro for noob

Hi guys this is my first macro I used a 50mm 1.8f AF with a reversing ring. I did correct the color on my flickr page critiques welcome my exposure was set at 30 sec with the on camera flash and app set to 22

I think you did a good job using the reversing ring and getting a close shot of the top of the salt shaker (I'm assumiong).

Now comes the next step. Getting in close is one thing, but all those other things you know about making a good image come into play with macro shots, too. Things like composition, lighting (bit of a glare smack in the middle is distracting), cropping, etc.

You also need to ask yourself if you made the subject interesting or if this was just a test shot.

this was pretty much just a test I didn't think the salt shaker was going to be a very good subject but was the most interesting thing I could find at the moment. I was going for the top of the shaker but I couldn't get a good shot without the flash I tried putting some paper over it and that helped somewhat. Thanks for your time I do appreciate it.
