I've mixed emotions here. Looks good but I'm thinkin', are they as yummy as they look or temptingly poisonous?

lol, great shot. the darkness does provoke some sort of mood.
the berry rule that i know of.. if the berry is black. its safer. and i'm still alive after numerous hiking trips and black berry eating..

Birds can eat a bunch of things that aren't so good for human consumption so I wouldn't put a lot of store in the "rule of birds"!
![]() I do like this picture - although dark, it has plenty of colour. I wonder if it would be improved without that twiggy element on the berry halfway up the left hand side? Unless taking pictures for scientific purposes, I don't think it is dishonest to give your subject a little grooming (although taking care not to harm it). Also, did you try a few different angles to experiment with how the foreground, mid and background sets of berries fit together? Wulf |

![]() here it is cropped tighter...yes I did take others from different angles..the wind picked up...hand held with a macro...(see where I am going with this?) also the twiggy little thing was distracting but I decided...if it's not on the lens leave it alone... Thanks for your inputs.

I prefer the closer crop - it makes more of the colour and still has the bokeh thing going (attractive blurry bits out of the DoF) while avoiding the twiggy bit.
The only difference I might have made would have been to move the frame a little lower - less space above the top berry and catching more of the blurry half berry at the bottom. Wulf |
