Nice find! Where are you located? I would love to have a garden like that.....
I think the DOF is a bit shallow here and it seems a bit soft. I'm sure the guy is still back there somewhere so you might want to try and find him and reshoot....good thing is the thing moves slow enough that you can position him however you like...and get plenty of shots. COloring is great here. I think a couple minutes more would have gotten more of a shot. Was he doing his "sway" or just still?

like i said i'm new to DSLR photography so DOF and all those things are still on my "things to learn list". i got a couple more photo's of these guys... still trying to catch the little baby ones they are faster than their parents.. This guy was just standing still trying to not be noticed. anyways thanks for the reply.. my learning curve is dependant on forum comments. so that i can better my photography. you will see more of me ciao

do you know much about these creatures?
See the one on your finger is great except being chopped off at the tail. Not 100% sharp focus but depth of Field (DOF) is right on.

i know a bit about them, but not like heavy into detail..
the lens i'm using has been reviewed not the be the sharpest of lenses but is quite affordable macro lens. i didn't realise the chopped off tail hehe. i found yet another one today. well it could be the same one.. here it is crawling on the grass. ![]() i'm using a sigma 70-300mm dg macro lens.. hence the not so sharp images.

I see you were all the way at the end of that lens....might help to drop back to about 250 or even 200mm. Alot of the lenses get tend to get a bit softer at the far end. Even if it means getting closer it might give a sharper image...just an opinion and won't hurt to try.
I only asked about the chameleon knowledge cause they are not tolerant of handling that much and thought you might like to know that they are sort of shutting down when you hold them not getting comfortable. Might be better off letting them be and they may wind up flourishing there right in front of you and in return giving you even more opportunities to shoot them....with a camera that is....lol! I like this last one I get flashbacks of mine I use to raise with there swaying walk. They look at you from the side as if they are praying you think they are foliage just blowing around. Not knowing they aren't fooling anyone! Keep posting I love these guys and if you find any other species I'd love to see them too.....

Almost all if not all tele zoom lenses have softness at the extremes, you cant get away from it some just handle it better...
and yes this lens is soft from 200-300 but by using it at it sweet spot and using a tripod you can get some pretty darn good photos worth every penny ya buy it for...
