Hi all this is my first time on this forum, not sure if I am even posting this Q in the right area so please excuse any mistakes I may make.
I bought a nikon coolpix 995 cheaply for macro with opal images, its a great camera but it has 2 hot or dead pixels, I can clone them out in p/shop but would dearly love to fix it without costing me a bomb as the camera only cost me a hundred or so dollars. I do have a lovely nikon coolpix 8800 which takes a great macro shot also but the large lens tends to get in the way, also the nikon 995 takes a lovely movies of opal on a turntable which is an ideal way to show how the colour play of a nice stone. If I get any good at posting things on this forum I will share some images with you. So if anyone out there can help me with this hot pixel problem I would be very grateful. thanks. Hot pixels will go away if the camera cools off, dead pixels will always show up, so, if it's just hot pixels they should go away. But, if they are dead pixels... there may still be hope. Apparently there is a program out there that will let you read and remap your dead pixels. You can read about it here and here. Might help you out hopefully
