DIY macro reverse mount extension tube
DIY Macro Reverse Mount Lens for macro photography | jyoseph.com
Just came across this tutorial,and was wondering about your thoughts on it...Is it worth it to give it a try ? I really don't want to mess up my camera...

It looks like there is quite a bit of chance of getting dust and other stuff inside your camera body. If you're working cleanly and take great care of cleaning all the parts the chance of that should be minimal, though. I'd say shy away from stuff like this if you're uncomfortable blowing your sensor clean every once in a while.

Have you got a decent set up to do the DIY involved? If not, it might be less frustrating to buy a macro lens or adapter instead. Also, what lenses do you already have at your disposal?
