Default White Little Flower

I used below setting for this:

Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 19.8 mm
ISO Speed: 80

Because this flower is micro in size I used my Macro setting on and moved close to the subject. Used center exposing mode instead of default matrix to expose the white subject properly.

PP: A 4X6 crop using Picasa.

FLOWER

I would welcome any constructive comments as usual

Hi, Palachandra!

Thanks for sharing this picture with us. In this composition, you have a Nice DOF and you did well to isolate the subject; Nothing around it to distract our eyes from the flower.

The only minus (for me) is about the sharpness. May be you should have still used the matrix focus mode for this picture. May be you will want to work on the sharpen with a dedicated software.

I was taught to focus on the stamen. Just food for thought.

superb!...photoshp's sharpen tool works wonders where wanted or needed...
...otherwise...
exquisite in its entirety. Sometimes you can look at something and not see it.
here, you saw it.

Drax,

If i remeber i used centre metering mode and center focusing mode for this one. I focused on white flower and recomposed to get off-centre flower. May be in this process I lost the focus. Thanks for your inputs and I will try to sharpen it in PP.

windrider86,
I feel you are right with this one.

alenz,

Thanks for your comments.

Palachandra,

Depending on how close you had to get to focus Macro, you may be able to connect with the bloom to keep it in focus as you recompose. I use my little finger to hook onto small weeds or flowers so that even if I move a 1/4-inch, the subject moves with me. You could attach a clip on a wire (think clothespin and coat hanger) onto your tripod or form a handle to just hold in your hand. It works for me because my focus starts about an inch away from the front of the lens. The wind and/or your own wavering (keeping your balance) can change a Macro focus. The center bud is superb, so you have the equipment and skill to do this. One more tool may give you a perfect shot.
