f/3.5,35mm,exp-1/80,iso400. I think its a little betterr than the bug I posted the other day but still not quite happy with it. too grainy or something.

probably the best you can do given the lighting conditions? what time of the day was this taken? graininess probably from iso at 400...

still a good shot...wonder how it would look b&w?

well here ya have it in b & W. Not bad I think I prefer the really bright colors.

was it too dark to shoot at a lower ISO?

While it does appear a little grainy, it fits this picture. This is a good capture with good bokeh.

Very nice capture! As much as I enjoy black and white, in this case my personal preference goes to the color version.

Yea it was the end of the day and I was on the back side of the hill and this was kinda under the shrubs.

This was another one I did. As you can see tho it was a bit brezzy and I had a hard time balancing on one foot and one knee on the ground

i saw this on yoru flickr account this morning and loved the shot!....the graininess shouldn't worry you too much as it seems....to my eye.....contained in the background.....

I love both shots. I agree that the color images add more of an "alien life form" look, which enhances any insect shot. (IMHO) How close were you to your subject? I've tried shots like this without a tripod. I seem to get a lot more blur than you do. Maybe I should switch to de-caf. LOL. Anyway, these are nice shots, and I look forward to seeing more of your nature work, in the future.
