Hello,
I have a Sony DSC R1 with a 24 -120mm zoom lens (fixed). and I have recently bought a Fox close up kit from a thrift shop to try my hand at macro. The kit has no instructions and I would like to know when using the close up filter, which end of the lens is best for doing macro? The telephoto or the wide angle end? I also would like to know if anyone has any experience with the Fox close up kit and if they are any good. Thanking you in anticipation. |

Not great photos but they served their purpose well. Wulf |

Generally you should use your longest end of the lens. That way you'll probably get better magnification with the filter and as Wulf mentioned, it'll prevent vingetting.

Hi. I am not familiar with the Fox close-up kit lenses but you may want to try this link: http://www.photosig.com/go/photos/br...ories?typeId=8 I came across it in a Google search. Look under Fox and you will see postings for several diopters of the Fox close-up (or somethimes they call them Macro) lenses. You may be able to find additional info in the comments provided or write to the users directly. Good luck with your kit. I look forward to seeing some examples.
