Default Testing out Macro please help ;)

Hi Everyone,

I love taking nature photos but I am not sure if I am on the right track? I started using Macro a couple of months ago but I am not sure I am using this feature correctly. Can you please give me your honest opinions. Thanks so much

Are you trying to zoom in and do macro at the same time? It looks like your camera can't quite focus on the flower. Most point-and-shoot digicams are better at getting close to the subject when the lens is zoomed all the way out. Typically, when you zoom in (use a longer focal length) the minimum focus distance (the closest the camera can get and still focus) increases.

The specs on your camera say:
Quote:
• Normal: 50cm (19.7 in) minimum (W), 120cm (47.25 in) minimum (T)
• Macro: 1cm (0.4 in) wide only
Notice how it says "wide only", and the difference in non-macro mode, where the closest you zoom in and use the telephoto end of the range is pretty large.

AMAHOGANY53, Welcome

I've moved your post to Macro Photography because Critique asks you to include a specific question and EXIF, and MP is more a general-question sort of section. If you want to post to Critique later, be sure to check the rules at the top of the page. Thanks
