Default what's with the glow?

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 24 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off

Jason's macro

Can someone tell me what is causing the pink "glow" around the edges of the flowers? Is it the ISO setting? (which should have been at 100) I should mention it was taken with the 18-55 kit lens with a macro/wide angle attachment.

I see a bit of blue and pink fringing. It's probably from the attachment -- I imagine that it added a lot of chromatic abberation ("color fringing") into the mix. Add-on lenses / attachments can really mess with light in that way.

Agree - it looks like chromatic aberration (CA). You should be able to remove much of this in post-processing.

You have blue fringing (Lateral chromatic aberration) in tree branches but the tulips have sharpening haloes-what ever method you use to sharpen, add a "Luminosity" layer-this will avoid the haloes. regards, Ken
