Default Queen Ant's Lace

For anyone wanting Macro without the expense, this is the result of putting a small magnifying glass in front of a Fuji FP S3100 lens, in Macro mode:

I'm really amazed how well the magnifying glass works out. Nice contrast between the ant and the white flower.

Saralonde, Thanks

It's also compelling to find things small and interesting.

You know, if I slowed down some, you could get to 2000 before I hit 3K. You have plans to make it a special shot?

Nice work Jiminy! Should I assume a glass magnifier was used here and not a plastic one??? Seems glass would provide more sharpness, than plastic.

YoAshnish, Thanks

Yes, and two elements at that. This one is what you'll see photo editors using to check negatives (or a contact sheet). Plastic doesn't quite do it. Prices range from $5 to $20.

This is very cool, I am new here and this is my first reply on a picture. Hope I am doing it right, haha. I think it is so cool that you held a magnifying glass in front of the camera. great macro.

chelle7575, You posted fine

Thanks, it was the simplist cheapest way to get what I wanted. I believe you could cut a hole in a lens cap and glue on a magnifying glass (not sure, haven't tried that). Sunlight will make it even better, and practice focussing.
