Brian, really love the blues here and the faded greens work for me too. Nice peaceful shot!.. Maybe that dark bit at the top could use some work / removing? not sure.

Thanks Sime.

You know what? Different people have said different things about that.

Here's another angle which doesn't include the orange. This has been *blued up* one notch using PS.

I rather like the first one because of the contrast in colors. Almost abstract in feel.

Could you post slightly smaller images? This is hard to see the entire thing at once on my monitor which makes it harder to gauge it's impact.

Sorry Saralonde - what size would work for you?

Its like a supernova explosion, all the flowers emerging from a central whorl. The first one gives the feeling of sudden appearance, the second one is more of harmony. I found your shot very interesting.

Hey Brian, not sure if you use flickR but the medium (500x366px) flickr size is pretty good.

Hi - I did look on the FAQ to see if there was a rule for image sizes this forum - couldn't find anything...

OK - this is at 750px wide

and this is at 500 px wide

Thoughts?

I use a 23" widescreen monitor so I'm a bit spoilt...

There is nothing specific in the Photobucket section (so, that needs updating!) but the rule of thumb is "no greater than 600px on the longest edge". Flickr, which I use, has a 500px longest edge medium size which I think is large enough to appreciate a photo but small enough that it loads quickly, works on smaller screens and doesn't break the layout of the forum - like Saralonde, I tend to skip over pictures that force me to scroll to take them all in.

It is worth setting up the picture to link back to a larger version - I am not sure how easy this is with Photobucket (with Flickr it is easy).

Wulf

ps. I prefer the first shot - the bluer tones of the second one make it seem cold and a touch claustraphobic.

I couldn't help noticing that the stem thingys in the first shot look a little blurred.

Other than that though, I like both shots, although the colour in the first one is nicer as it looks warmer.
