Default Any tips to get good jewellery closeup shot?

I am trying to get good pictures of jewlery, but am I having a hard time to get it right. I am using basic camera point&shoo IXUS70 which I bought a few weeks ago. Any good tip for me to improve jewellery shots?

While that is a very good way, a trip to the $1 store might do it to...

That is a pop-up laundry bin from a $1 store...
And no, the flash usually isn't where you see it in that shot.

Default That's hard

I had to take some jewelery pictures to sell items on eBay.

I found that backing up and zooming worked much better than trying to take the shots close up.

I also put the pieces on white paper.

And no flash, I just had a bright table lamp nearby.
