Default Small changes (the art of observation)

Here is the picture I am currently using as desktop wallpaper on my Mac:

Rudbeckia

It is a Rudbeckia flower taken yesterday morning using my D40, my 50mm f/1.8 E series lens and my Raynox DCR-250 macro adaptor.

What I was most pleased about was catching the black spikes, tipped with tiny five-pointed stars, in the centre of the flower. That is the kind of detail that you rarely notice apart from when looking through a macro lens. What makes this even more interesting to me is observing a similar picture I took a few days earlier:

Rudbeckia Close-up - 2

That is perhaps even the same flower but the centre has changed a lot in less than a week. That is why I love macro flower photography so much!

Wow, that is quite a change. I guess it shows that in the world of nature nothing stays the same for very long and it is worth revisiting.

I know what you mean, Wulf. I find it amazing how many ways you can shoot something as "simple" as a flower. Nice shot BTW!

wulf,

Sometimes morning to evening can give you another stage of development. You pay attention to detail, essential in Macro. Well done.
