Here is a recent shot taken with my Nikon E series 50mm f/1.8 and Raynox DCR-250 adapter:
![]() The aperture was set at f/8 but, because of the nature of macro photography, the depth of field was still fairly minimal. However, I think that has contributed to the "glow" that this shot has. The bright colours start to become soft towards the top and edges of the flower, as if I had added a glow effect in post processing. Set against a very out of focus background in complementary colours and brought to life by sharp focus on the details of the fuchsia flower, I am very pleased with this picture and intend to try consciously replicating it in future. Has anyone else taken macro shots that seem to glow like this? Wulf

mysticeyesx, I think your shot would glow more if you had the focus back at the centre of the flower and even more if you angled the camera so all the leading petal edges were roughly level - it is definitely glowing a little bit at the edge of some of the back petals (where the pinky-red turns to orange).
