I have tried and tried and cannot get a shot like this. I think the only way to do it is to get a fly, pin it to a board and then shoot it

What is interesting is the way the fly tucks its legs back while flying. They always look like they are down to the eye.

Great shot and love the movement in the wings.

Wonderful picture. How can one set up for such a shot? I always wonder if photographers take a chair, a blanket, a lunch and a thermos and just sit waiting in a likely spot all day. How did you do it? Can't be luck.

Thanks all for the kind words. For some reasons, this fella happen to hover over my tripod, it was then that I got the chance to shoot otherwise it is quite difficult to get shots like this...just lucky

These are really great. The only time I ever tried something like this, the fly ended up being about 0.000001% of the frame. It looked like sensor dust!
