Default Nikon D80 Newbie

I recently purchased the Nikon D80 DSLR, a big jump from the average point and shoot camera and i am loving it. I do however find myself wanting to get as much of an object in a frame while still maintaining focus that i can. This has prompted me to look into macro photography, What would be a good lens to start with and other supplies i may need, such as flashes converters etc.?

what is a good macro lens for this camera.? and flash ??

My first Nikon was the Coolpix 950 which was a two megapixel camera. Later I thought of updating and ended up with the Nikon D50 which I've had for about a year and a half. Few months ago I picked up the D80 since the D200 seemed out of reach for me. Prior to getting the D80 I had gotten the Nikon 18-55mm and 55-200mm zoom lenses. Then I got the Nikon 85mm f1.8 prime lens since I wanted to shoot my granddaughter playing volleyball indoors. My flash is the Nikon SB600 which I just love and gives excellent results. You can shop online and get a good price on it. The lens I would suggest is the Nikon 18-200mm zoom lens. With my two zoom lenses I require constant changing lens which I wouldn't have to do had I the 18-200mm lens. Both Sigam and Tamron make lenses in the same range but I would suggest staying with Nikon though that lens is hard to find.

hmm if it was me.. and i didn't have to worry about $$$ then i would go for AF Micro 105mm f/2.8D its a great lens.. as far as i can tell from images i have seen Check out Pbase.com and search for the lens to see examples...
if $$ is an issue at least save for a AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D

Nikon lenses also hold their value....

or i have heard good things about the SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro

they all do their jobs well i have a sigma 50mm 2.8 AF second hand and nearly 10 years old.. it takes great images.. as long as i am using a tripod.. which is a must for all macro work no matter what lens you are using !!!
