This fly was taken a week ago.
f30 aperature
1/32 shutter
60mm macro
handheld flash
400 on the ISO
I have found myself to enjoy macro photography. I only need to go in the front yard to shoot. Its a big world out there with this lens.

Wow - that's amazing! Isn't it great how macro photography shows us all the things our eyes miss. The fly is really hairy and I love the texture of the leaves. Nice work .

Can I ask why you chose those settings? If it was the camera that chose those setting can I suggest the following:

Put the camera in manual and the flash on ETTL
ISO 100
1/250th
Whatever aperture you feel like
Adjust the flash exposure compensation to taste....up if you want a brighter pic, down if you want a darker pic.

For flash shots with black background (or backgrounds lit with flash) that's what I would most likely use.

I chose these settings with given conditions. Low Light, needed a boost from the ISO. Aperature at 30 cause I wanted it all. Im not using a micro flash either. Thank You very much

You see how the background has gone black? I don't think you've benefited from the ISO 400 or using a longer shutter speed than max sync speed. You'd have got a black background either way.....I'd take the black background in a lower ISO shot for low noise and the higher shutter speed for the best chance of a properly sharp shot.

Try it....the flash will sort out the exposure for the foreground
