Default Yellow flower--first macro with new lens

IMG_0005

I was trying out my new lens and trying to capture the raindrops. The spider jumped out and wanted to capture me! (I escaped)

Think I'd have just tried to capture the spider (but then I like spiders!!)....interesting looking wee fellow

Keep an eye on your point of focus and DOF....the tip of the flower nearest the camera is a bit soft. Keep your eyes peeled for things covered in even more raindrops too....see if you can find big drops that you can see stuff through

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm aware the best way to shoot Macro is with a tripod, but I always see the most interesting stuff when I'm just out-and-about. I was crouching at the edge of a busy roadway for this one.

Is it better to pull back a little and get more in the image? I'm usually trying to fill the viewfinder with what I'm shooting, and that seems to lead to the focus issue you mentioned.
