Default Busy in the Garden

Gifts from the garden.....

PeonyBud at Sunrise

Columbine

Bachelor Button Abstract

I read some advice somewhere that said that you could use a spray bottle to mist your flowers to add a fresh and interesting aspect to your images of flower blooms.(lol).....I sometimes wish I would need such equipment as I trudge through the heavy dew laden grass. This years rainy weather has offered lots of soft diffused light and raindrops.

You have some beautiful shots there - I find my garden full of inspiration, especially equipped with a macro lens, which frequently reveals things skipped over by the naked eye.

Whoa, those are nice flowers. The depth of field looks a little shallow, though.

great shots, but unfortunately, the DOF is too shallow on the second and third ones. if the entire flower was in focus they would have been amazing!

I agree with the DOF issues but absolutely love the colours on the third one, the green background really helps the purples and blues pop!

Smile Interesting Responses

I found the responses to my images really interesting...thankyou all! It never even occured to me to widen the depth of field. My thoughts when taking these and most of my shots is to decide what it is that I want to say about a particular subject and to exploit that aspect of it. One of the ways I often do this is to minimize the DOF, either to exaggerate or minimize a particular part or to draw the eye perhaps.
I would really be interested in further discussion. It may be that I've missed something altogether. (Wouldn't be a bit surprised *sigh) As I said it just never occured to me... Thanks again all ... I think I learn something every time I post to this forum.
