Default experimenting with macro

Hi Everyone,
I am new to taking macro photography. Here is a set i have been putting together over the last few days.

It says you don't have any photos available. You may have set them to "private".

Ah..there they are! You have a lot of shots there. It may help to get more critiques if you post one in a thread. Check the FAQ at the top of the page if you need to learn how to post images here.

In the meantime, I'll pick one I noticed: macro 054. I like how you got nice and close to the flower, it has lovely colors. The waterdrops add to the interest, too. This shot has a very shallow dof. The focus is on the front waterdrops, but I wonder if more of it was in focus (the center as well as the front) if that would make a better shot. The way it is, the waterdrops become the subject and the flower is secondary. Sometimes focusing into the heart of the flower will work better.

Nice pictures! *envy* The flowers in my garden somehow don't look as nice as those. And it's nearly impossible for me to find any insects around...

thank you sara, i will try that next time. i am using an olympus sp320 and first time ever using macro mode.

matthewchj ty.i got lucky with the flowers lasting through the storms we have had. those are the only insects i could find lol. i keep looking for a ladybug or something with some color.

First of all nice job. Great colors, no lack of colors or too much white.you use a tripod? Also pics 67 and 58, what are they? The flowers look like l wished my garden looked like.

mslpics- thank you. i dont use a tripod still looking for one. pic 67 is a turtle statue from in the garden and pic 58 is a real red ear slider turtle.
