Default Raynox DCR250 used on Canon 350D with a 50mm 1.8 or a 18-55mm lens.

It is about Raynox DCR250 used on Canon 350D with a 50mm 1.8 or a 18-55mm lens.

I want to try macro and looking out for lens, but after looking at the prices I don't have the heart to shell our 400 bucks on macro lens..I checked the 90mm Tamron and 105mm Canon. So basically gave up that idea for now.

So was looking at alternatives and stumbled upon this Raynox brand. It looks good for exploring macro photography as hobby for non professionals.

What I know that it is a 'snap on' lens which fits on range of lenses. People who have used it have good feedback - but then they have used it with a high end compact and not with a DSLR.

Here is what I need:

I have a Canon 350D, so wanted to know if the Raynox DCR250 would work on this model. Anyone used it then please share you feedback and links to sample pictures.

I checked Raynox manufacturers website and they have Canon 300D listed but none of the models after that one. I sent them a email for which I am awaiting a reply.

"DCR-250 Super Macro/Close-Up lens"

Any help appreciated...

It should work perfectly - it clips onto both my 50mm and 18-55mm lenses as well as the others in my collection. My only reservation about the Raynox is that one of the plastic clips broke after about six months of hard use and I couldn't glue it back on. I ended up buying a replacement adaptor mount but haven't used it so much since the 90mm lens I got in the meanwhile also allows macro focusing.

Of course, there is fun to be had from stacking the Raynox on the Vivitar lens which gets into true macro (1:1) territory!
