Default Macro Needle

I took this with my 55-200mm and 50mm coupled, backwards.

I thinks it's pretty sweet. Now, I'm looking at other things to do trying this method.

Very cool!! It's amazing how a macro shot makes everyday things more interesting when we see the detail that we never take the time to look at. What did you use for a background and to hold the needle?

I used a white piece of paper as a background and left the needle on the table. I basically just kept moving the camera till I got it to the point that I wanted, then used a remote to take the picture.

It is amazing how macro makes ordinary things really cool. I really like the simplicity of the shot, easy to focus on the subject. Lighting is good for this application.

A couple of things I see in this photo which I think are a little distracting.

I would use the tip of the needle as the focal point of the shot, not further up the needle.

Then I also see a goober in the lower right hand corner. That cole easily be cropped out.
