Default A fly and a flower

Here are a couple of shots I took (earlier today and yesterday):

Fruit Fly

EXIF:
Exposure: 1/200 sec
Aperture: f/14
ISO: 1600
Focal length: 90mm

I thought the image came out pretty well for ISO 1600. Of course, I cleaned it a bit in PS CS3, but the original was quite OK too. I tried a lower ISO but the fly was moving pretty quickly and to get a decent speed at this aperture the camera upped the ISO. I was on manual with ISO Auto on.

The following is a crop of a larger image, to show the details of a really small flower (it is maybe quarter of an inch in diameter):

As close as I can

EXIF:
Exposure: 1/125 sec
Aperture: f/29
ISO: 200
Focal length: 90mm

I could get f/29 because of the very bright sun-light at around 1:00 PM.

Default Fly

I like the fly pic. BTW did you swat him after you took the shot?

Oh, no. Now why would I do something like that, just after it posed for a good photo? That would be downright ungrateful to your subject, wouldn't it?

Beautiful shots! I was surprised by the nice blurred background with the fly at f14.

Thanks, photofun. In macro mode, even at f/14 the area within focus is very small since you are very close to the subject. I wanted to get the entire fly in focus, not just the top of it. So I had to switch to manual and it came out pretty good.

That fly photo is good. I don't normally get that sharp macro photos :-(
Probably I should start to use tripod or stop breathing when taking photos :-) What kind of lens you used?

One of mine:

I had luck with this one... I was just taking photo of ladybird and when I was looking my photos at my home I noticed those two other fellows :-)
