Cool idea. I find it's just too dark, with the centre of the shot being a black patch, nothing really seems in focus. Perhaps it would look better lit from below?

"Focus seems wrong" doesn't explain what you see that isn't right. What I don't see is a subject/focus for my attention. The edges of the facets of your glass are sharp, and some of the brightly-lit refracted scenes in the glass bottom have detail. But this is an abstract, with a distraction, bottom/left. Ninety-percent dark, a tiny touch of color here and there. Not wrong, interesting at first look. Imagine if someone had been under the table looking up, with lots of light on their face.
