Default Macro with Olympus Evolt 500

Heyas,

I just purchased a Olympus evolt-500 slr and have a few questions.

I have a 14mm - 55mm lense and I am trying to take pictures of subjects that are 28mm in legnth. My camera does ok with this lense however should I be using a macro lense instead? If so which one would be the best choice?

Thanks

Some choices for inexpensive options.

Screw-in macro filters:

Extension tubes:

A more expensive option would be to buy a dedicated macro lens.

Rylek,

I have the same camera as you and I have had better sucess with screw on Macro lenses. I have a set that is stackable and has different powers to them. Which makes it easier to take the closeup pictures. Tonight when I get home I will find out the name of them and let you know.

I have an E500 myself and I love my 35mm Macro lens. It's not very expensive and addition to great macro shots, it's great for portraits too! I definitely recomend it, if you're into macro.

Which lens did you buy, and from where? Looking for a reasonable macro for my E-500 as well. Thanks.

You can read a review here http://www.photodo.com/topic_134.html

I bought it from Photopoint in Estonia... hard to believe you'd be going there
