Seating available for "Toad", party of 3.
I found these little guys on the Olentangy River bottoms in Columbus Ohio. These were the smallest that I found that day. The tallest of this group was barely 1 1/2 inches tall. I had to scoop out a place for my camera in the sandbar, and take several shots. My camera (Sony DSC-H1) doesn't have a swivel LCD screen, and at that low angle, I couldn't see what I was shooting. Do items this size still qualify as "Macro"?

Quasi-macro maybe but even then at 1.5 inches they're still several times bigger than your sensor....and since you've got the whole subject in I'm not sure I'd call it a close-up either....
....but I would call it close enough  Nice looking shrooms and good composition for not being able to see the screen!!!
