Default Just exploring the limits of the range

I haven't posted much yet and still learning. It isn't that I haven't taken many photos - been doing it for years but only recently digitally, and I keep finding rolls to develop. I have had a Minolta X_700 with which I mostly took black and white (still working on scanning what I didn't print) and I still use it at times (and of course the obligatory Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim for wacky film shots) but I am really enjoying seeing _now_ what I shot.

I have a Fuji S700. I've only had the camera a month and still learning what it can do, and already wanting a dslr if only I could afford to buy one right now....
But, so far I've taken a variety of shots: terrestrial, the moon and now I'm looking at smaller things. I'm still waiting for more things to bloom other than the three flowers in the yard and starting to expand, so here are a few I've posted on flickr and would love any comment:

Using a macro attachment that came with a wide angle converter I took some shots of the few flowers in the yard:
Looking for the Bee's eye view
and
Another try at the flowers

and then there are these I took of coins with my Minolta's 45mm lens wedged into a step-up ring on the camera backwards to get really close (though with very narrow focus range):
the quarter-
Liberty

and the penny (a little vingetting due to zooming out a touch) -
Abe sees the light

I know I have a lot to work on, but any thoughts are most appreciated.

Thanks

Love the whacky perspective on the daffodil shot

What's the blue lighting on liberty? Works quite well I think!!

The blue was a reflection of my daughter's jacket that was on a chair behind me. I wondered when I first saw it on another shot I have up on flickr then reached over to get something out of my bag and saw my arm block it.
