Default Photographing jewelry - digitally

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110, 15x wide optical zoom VR, 5.0-75.0mm 1:3.5-5.4. I am a jewelry maker and I photograph my work for archival and marketing purposes. I use the "Close-up" scene selection, my image mode is 3m. ISO sensitivity is 1600. My photos have a tendancy to turn out grainy. I understand that's due to light. I try to take my shots during the day in natural light, therefore, I have my white balance on daylight. I also cannot have any reflection on my pieces. I've experimented with different settings, and the ones I've listed work most of the time. Can anyone offer any hints as to better setting choices, or methods of photographing my jewelry? My photos can be seen on my blog: Here to N.E.wear.
Thanks for your help.

Lighting. You need lighting. Trying to do this indoors with the camera you have isn't going to work great. I'd suggest a DIY light tent and taking it outside if you can't light it.
