Default Question regarding point and shoot macro mode

Just a quick question here regarding macro mode on my Olypus 535 Zoom point and shoot digital camera. What I would like to know is,... Is Macro mode independant or "aswell as " other shooting modes, IE is macro while in portrait mode, the same as say macro while in landscape. Or is macro always the same regardless what other "mode" is currently selected.

Sorry I hope you understand

From my experience with point/shoot digicams (canon/sony), you can't use macro mode if you use one of the Scene modes. I would have to use Program mode in order to use the macro setting. I'm not sure how it is with Olympus digicams.

If you haven't already, you might want to read the user's manual. That'd be your best source of info on the mode.

On many cameras, the macro mode actually changes the way the camera interprets color. For example, macro is very often used to take pictures of flowers (the macro mode icon is usually a flower), so the camera will boost colors when you're in macro.

On most macro cameras that I have tried, the 'scene' modes are pretty useless apart from the night modes. I actually find it easier to use the shutter or aperture priority modes, or the program mode, all of which give you more flexibility and on cameras I have used, allow you to use built-in macro mode.
