Default Flowers in macro

Hello, I'm new here and I'd like to ask a question to all of you.
I love taking macros of flowers, my camera is a simple digital nikon E4100, I think it has quite a good lense for macros but not as brilliant as professional cameras.

These photos were taken with it, the first one is natural and the second is post processed. When you're not so satisfied with a macro photo that you've taken, would you add some post procession in order to make it "pop" and look more interesting or would you just leave it as it is?

thanks for your attention!

Your post processing helped in reducing the busy background. You might want to try different angles, lighting, etc. to reduce the busy backgrounds.

And yes most people post process when needed.

I'm no expert.. but I personally avoid post production processing.. i like to try get what i want using the camera.
i always worry if someone asks if its been doctored, they loose a bit of respect for you as a photographer.
somehow people start to think.. is that water drop really there. is that colour real.?

in saying that.. if you produce what you want it doesnt matter.
so long as the end result meets what you had in your mind.

i'm not against it.. i just like to try harder with the camera.

BUT.. it depends what you're doing if for. some people dont care.. but i like to keep the original anyway.

i dont know. thats just me.

thanks for your feedback.

I like to post process some of my flowers shots but in doing that I don't add anything that wasn't there, like water drops, insects or whatever, I just like to desaturate the colours a bit, add a vignette, a mask or whatever suits best the photo.
But some flowers shots look better natural way I must say!
