I found some of my old Minolta lenses and figured I would play with them the only way I could with my Nikon, reversing for some macro fun. I basically have two questions so I will break it up...
Question #1 - Stacking vs. Reversing Would I get better results stacking an old Minolta lens reversed onto my Nikon 50mm?...or would it be best to just slap the old Minolta on my Nikon body in reverse with the proper reversing ring? Question #2 - Which lens? If I've understood my searching results, the 28mm will yield a stronger magnification than a 50mm when used in reverse. However, apparently you require lots of lights so I am thinking that the 1.4 on the 50mm would be beneficial over 2.8 on the 28mm. So aperture or magnification?

just imagine this - the more lenses you stack, the more layers of glass there will be in the way... which can "warp" (literally and figuratively) the image quality. as for the reversal, just use your 50mm and rely on "foot zoom" (move in closer to your subject if you want it to be bigger
)
