Default multi faced mantis

it can be innocent looking

even shy

do some flossing

or show it's true face

far from perfect macro's but an intriguing creature, any help on how to take shots like this better in terms of dof, light and composition are most welcome

Great close up shots. I've never looked at one this close. You've not only brought out the details in this little creature but the personallity. Isn't that what photography is about?

I totally agree, thats why I liked them so much, even if the photography isn't perfect, but then neither are we

These are such cool shots. Praying mantises are one big bug that does not totally creep me out, yet that last photo is totally creepy! Well done!

Thanks for your comment, I use a panasonic fz8 and added a raynox 250 lens which is great for macro, but challenging to use and focus, the mantis waas very co operative too
