Question Steam

Hello everybody!

This is my first post in this forum, so I'm not sure if it's the correct place.

Today I tried to take a picture a hot tea, but the results it was not very good

I want to take a picture where the steam appear more clear.

I attach 2 pictures, first in color and the second in B&W (in b&w show better)

I think that it's better take the picture with a black background, but I've to check other options.

Some of you have some trick? some advice?

Thank you very much!

I personally haven't done this, but if I remember correctly, what you need is a dark background and a strong flash. That'll give you enough contrast to see the steam.

Here's a link to a thread dealing with photographing smoke. I think steam qualifies. There are some great tips here from other DPS members.
