This is my first post with photos. Any comments appreciated.

I took those with my Canon PowerShot A710 IS with macro mode.

Thanks for looking!

Nice work! At first I thought there was too much sky (then I realized I could view the picture larger, I'm new at all this too). I thought it was pretty good and the colours were very nice. Thank goodness spring has arrived!

Thank you so much! You are my first commenter I am waiting pretty anxiously for the comments. I just hope I won't lower the level on this board.

You'll do just fine I'm sure! I haven't even got enough nerve up yet to post one of my pictures! I'll have to figure it out one day and just give it a try!

Default Nice work

Very nice. I think it's very good SOOC. I have that same camera and LOVE it! It's so handy to take around and it is what I learned on. The manual settings are great for learning.

If you go to your photo and click on "all sizes," select the medium size, and copy the HTML starting with "

This is really nice! I love how bright and even the lighting is, you caught this one at the perfect height of sun.

i don't see the difference between the sooc and the edited, i'm going so blind, lol. did you just change the contrast? by like +3? anyway, i think its a great photo for a point and shoot camera. i have the canon ps a620 and it's also capable of taking great macro shots. well done with this one might want to check out this faq about posting photos in threads though

Anna... definitely look at the link that CallMeKat has put in her post... it has a visual guide on how to post your pictures to the forum... which will make it much easier for people to view your pictures... and to give you feedback.

I like the editted version better... you must have sharpened it slightly. I feel that the first uneditted version is a little "busy" in the centre of the buds. Maybe try moving slightly to the left to get a little more of that detail to stand out, without it being stacked on top of itself. <- does that make sense...
Your Depth of Field is pretty good... but I think the shot would be stronger if you were able to take the focus up to the top group of buds - and crop out the bottom two sprouts... and leave out the buildings in the background.
Thanks for sharing... I look forward to seeing more of your shots!
