Lens compatibility

Looking to double-check that any Micro-Nikon lens will work on my new d3100 as long as I am manually focusing...right?

As long as it's been made since about 1977, you're fine for manual focus, though most of Nikon's micro lenses have been updated to AF-S at this point. So if you're buying new, you're likely to be able to find one that will auto focus on your camera.

I was actually wondering because I am seriously considering going to ebay for a used lens...my budget for photography isn't huge and I don't happen to have an extra $500 bucks just laying around at the moment. Since I like to shoot manual anyway, I figured it might be a great way to get started without having to spend a ton of money.
