Default sucker

I am not sure its wasp/bee, but is a harmless creature and allowed me to shoot closely. The context is stamen of a flower (we call that flower as Rathnagandhi).

BEE II

As its flying i wanted to freeze its action so used larger aparture to get higher shutter speed. I used below settings:

Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 44.3 mm
ISO Speed: 200

I used 58mm close-up lense for my P&S and all shots are handheld.

Here is another composition of same subject: BEE

Any construcive suggetion would be appreciated.

I like the green and yellow together. The depth of field is really nice, too; that frozen wing is nifty. Beautiful photo!

You were very skilled and/or lucky to get the depth of field right. Very nice photo! There's some visible noise on both this and the other bee shot, maybe some post processing could reduce it?

Saralonde, ding, Landon@landonwright.com

Thanks for your feedback...

PSH,

Its my new VCL-M3358 58mm close-up lense which helped me to get good DOF. I am happy with the result for just 70$. The noise you could see is because of ISO 200 which I raised to get faster shutter speed (my camera produces noiseless photos only below 100). May be a different time of the day will help me to reduce ISO.

Thanks for looking into it and your inputs.

Great DOF!! I also lie the position that you caught its legs in. It looks like it is going in for a landing

Default Sucker

I love the framing and the colors. How do you plan for a shot like that?
