Ok, so I have this 35-70 zoom lens with a Macro setting. The only problem is the lens doesn't have any meters on it for when you switch to Macro. All the meters are designed for when you are in the normal zoom mode. The macro setting also doesn't support autofocus. Thus I am left trying to trust my eyesight to make sure the focus and DoF is what I want. Which in theory should work ok but I have REALLY poor eye sight and even when wearing glasses I have a heck of a time focusing on specific small details (for example through a camera viewfinder).
Anyone got any ideas on how I can properly focus this lens to ensure my macro shots are tack sharp? thanks for any help

You might want to look at viewfinder magnifiers such as this one for Minolta / Sony:
1x-2x Angle Finder for SONY A700 A100 A200 A300 A350 - eBay (item 250322536886 end time Sep-30-10 05:56:46 PDT) I use a simple eyecup to block out stray light, it helps. Phil
