Default Why are my macro photos looking blue??

I have just bought a Nikon AF VR 105mm f2.8 IF-ED and am finding that my shots have a definite blue cast to them. All shots have been taken outside. Does anyone know why, and what I should do about it
Thanks
Lainie

Were you taking them in the shade?
What white balance setting are you using, if shooting jpg?

The subject was a snail on grey/white stones, taken on a fairly bright day. The white balance was incadescent and was shot in RAW.
Thanks

There's your problem. Incandescent light is very red/orange warm and to compensate, the camera cools the color using blue considerably. This makes whites look white when lit by the red/orange color of incandescent light. Since the light outside was daylight, which is considered neutral, any photos taken in that light with that white balance will look blue.

Change to "flash" white balance for consistent accurate colors or use "auto" to automatically adjust to the color of the light you are in.

You said you shoot RAW? Somewhere in the program you use to process RAW images there *has* to be an option to adjust colour balance or white balance. You just have to find it and slide the slider to warmer, or whatever your program allows you to do.

Thanks so much for your info. I changed the WB to auto and all is well in the macro world. Thanks to all who sent suggestions.
Much appreciated.
