Hi all,
I have been trying to get a good shot of a bee working on a sunflower for a while now, this is the best one so far. I know its not 100% sharp but this was taken in a hurry n didn't want it to fly away before I shot. ![]() Does any1 know the reason its eyes are striped with yellow like that ? Thanks in advanced.

thats what I thought initially but even as he flew around he's eyes stayed the same.. where as a reflection would change with movement..

Zaahir,
I've seen many variations in eye color and segmented color in the Eastern US; no multi-striped ones yet. Here's a black and white Bald Faced Hornet, with segmented eye pattern: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2320/...5f5bd94a_o.jpg Here's a link you may enjoy, giving really good identification information: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/
