Default for those who use extention tubes

I know using these arent the best for macros.. but its all i can afford for now... but what suggested setting on the camera are the best? its very fustrating to have the camera keep focusing, focusing focusing... sometimes i use my 50mm1.8 or my 18-55mm kit lens...
any suggestions would really help..

You're gonna have to go to Manual focus and, with extension tubes, I believe you have to move the camera in and out to get things right.
