Default Bloom

The wet weather doesn't inspire to go out and about, so I look into my back catalogue and try to enhance my stock library.

This is an unknown flower, grown in the garden by the moosus and tended for lovingly until it bloomed into this delightful piece of nature.

The background was tremendously busy and so I have used a Tiffen centre-spot filter (free trial available @ http://toolfarm.com/plugins/index.ph...l_Filter_Suite) to reduce the background to a less obtrusive blur, and then I framed it with a glass-frame from IC.Net's plug-ins. I do however, quite like the way the leaves on the foliage behind the subject lead into the centre of the image towards the focal point - the flower itself.

Paul--thanks much for giving the website info--this is something I've been looking for. Don't have the fancy equipment and after boatloads of research not terribly convinced I want it, so am relying on post-shot tweakers now and then. The current center-spot filter I have isn't quite doing all that I want. --Lovely flower and image, with a nod to your moosus as well!

Beautiful shot. The only thing I would say is that the stem of the bloom extends into the 'frame' and I found this distracting.
