Default Marco starter lens

I am building my lens and I am curious what you all recommend for a starter marco lens that is affordable less then $400 I know not much of a budget but its what I got.

I have a Nikon D5000 can't wait to see what all you use. Thanks!

Hi Lyn ,

I have a Sigma EX DG 50mm Macro . Great little lens and very sharp for about $300

Look at my Flickr blog for some samples .

Bellows, or extension tubes, fit between the camera body and lens. This moves the focus point closer to the lens front element which increases the magnification. Extension with a existing lens is a relatively inexpensive method to trying macro photography.

Here is a manual aperture lens and bellows mounted on my DSLR.
