This article on DPS comes at the right time as I was looking at investing in a macro lens but dont really have the do$ for it.
http://digital-photography-school.co...for-your-dslr/ Can someone suggest a good and compatible extension tube for use with Canon 350 and 400D (rebel xt and xti). Also, is there a similar thing that allows you to increase the focal length of your lenses. That is make my 17-50mm a delicious 10-43mm or something That'd be awesome!

if you dont mind the manual side I would get tubes without glass so there is not an extra layer to take the quality of the shot down.
I actually paid 8.99 on ebay for mine to see if i wanted to invest in some Kenko tubes but have found they work just great for me and am not in any hurry to spend more if i dont have to.

Ext. Tubes
These are the ones i got from hong kong. Mind you, it takes about 3 weeks to get to you. They are just basically spacers no glass elements at all. I find they work perfect for me...i dont mind the manual aspect.
