Default come hither

as a biology student i meet a lot of animals and i always carry my camera around to take photos of what i encounter. this shot was taken with my canon powershot a620. i'm not sure if this qualifies as macro (1:1 ratio or more), but it's really closeup. anyway, took this photo on a white tile, and lightened it just a little bit in photoshop with the curves thing. it's one of my favourite animal shots

spider

Great shot! I love that you can see the little hairs on its legs... although... very creepy!

Ok this is really gross. But I guess once you get passed that; it's really a very interesting thing. The legs look like thorny twigs.

No, I was right the first time. This is still really gross

CallMeKat,

Even more interesting because of the title. Good choice to show face detail, at the risk of cutting off legs, which aren't as interesting.

Good luck in getting your Med School choice. Photos like this might help when giving injections to the wee ones, distracting them just long enough?

Awww, they're not that bad. For all their size and creepy looks, tarantulas are actually very docile. A lot like Daddy-longlegs, they rarely bite, and when they do it's not serious as their venom is very weak.
